Texas, Arizona both beat odds to face off for championship

Chris Young is a former Major League pitcher, the current general manager of the Texas Rangers — and a world class prognosticator.

The tall, right-hander who played for five teams over 13 pro seasons became the Rangers’ general manager at the end of 2020 but watched two losing seasons under his belt before a magical 2023.

At the Mayor’s Welcome Back Reception at Surprise Stadium before spring training games began last year, Young walked up the podium and causally began his remarks with this statement:
