Group seeks to empower young people to prevent sexual abuse

Empowering young people was discussed at the monthly Arizona Child Sexual Abuse & Exploitation Prevention Coalition meeting March 26.

Speaking to coalition members was state Sen. Juan Mendez, D-Tempe, and state Reps. Mitzi Epstein, D-Phoenix, and Melody Hernandez, D-Tempe. The coalition heard about current challenges facing Democrats at the state house on issues such as school funding and COVID-19.

Ms. Hernandez in particular took time to tell the younger coalition members to get involved in community and political activities as part of their mission to stop the sexual exploitation and abuse of children.
