Raising Cane’s restaurant recently helped Apache Junction students get ready for back-to-school season by donating 75 backpacks to children and giving $1,000 to The Boys & Girls Club of the East Valley – Superstition Mountain Branch, 2805 S. Ironwood Drive in Apache Junction.
Leaders from Raising Cane’s presented the backpacks, along with achievement awards, water bottles, Cane plush puppy keychains and more to the children in recognition of their completion of the Boys & Girls Club’s summer camp and in celebration of the upcoming school year, according to a release.
The backpacks were presented to students in the after-school program who were also in the summer program.
The $1,000 check donation to the Boys & Girls Clubs of the East Valley was in recognition of the club’s mission to support working families, single parents and grandparents raising their grandchildren, provide scholarships to those in need and help children grow with an understanding of Character - Leadership, Education - Careers, Health - Life Skills, Sports, Fitness, Recreation, and the Arts.
“We are so appreciative of Raising Cane’s continued support of our club members,” Lauren Wissmann, director of corporate activation for Boys & Girls Clubs of the Valley, said in the release. “The backpack donation is such a great way to both get students excited for the upcoming school year and recognize them for all of their hard work this summer.”
