Rain should cool temps this weekend

Valley not expected to get brunt of tropical storm

It’s feast or famine when it comes to rainfall this monsoon season in the Valley.

Thursday marked 147 days without measurable rainfall at Sky Harbor International Airport — good for the second-place all-time record, said Jessica Leffel, meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Phoenix.

The record was set at 160 days with no rainfall back in 1972, she said.
