Rain expected for first part of this week in the Valley

Rain moved into the Valley on Monday morning and is expected to remain for the next 48 hours, with a flood watch in effect through Tuesday according to the National Weather Service in Phoenix.

Bands of mostly light rain will be present over the region for much of today with more isolated moderate to heavy showers and thunderstorms possible by mid to late afternoon, according to the weather service website.

The moisture is due to what was Hurricanes Odalys in Baja, California and Polo in Mexico.
