Quorum drop could come in next member meeting in Sun City

2nd read scheduled for September

It took nearly two years, but Recreation Centers of Sun City members could finally be getting a lower quorum for membership meetings.

During its final business meeting before recessing for two months, the RCSC board voted 8-1 June 29, with Denny Nichols dissenting, to reduce the quorum to 500. The motion was a first read and must pass a second reading to go into effect. But that reading won’t be until the board’s next business meeting 9 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 28 in the auditorium at Sundial Center, 14801 N. 103rd Ave.

“The members are the owners of the process,” said Bill Pearson, speaking in favor of the motion. “If you don’t trust the membership, vote it down. Pass it if you believe we are in this together.”
