Queen Creek to have own ambulance service

Service expected to start in 2023

The Queen Creek Town Council has voted to stop contracting with a private ambulance company and start providing its own ambulance service through its Fire and Medical Department by July 2023.

The decision was made at the Wednesday, April 5, council meeting after Fire Chief Vance Gray and Deputy Fire Chief Lee Barnes reported to council about what they saw as numerous problems that have been occurring with the town’s current private ambulance provider American Medical Response.

According to a staff report, the Queen Creek Fire and Medical Department recommended that Queen Creek expand its existing emergency transportation system and move from the private provider, American Medical Response, to a municipal service.
