Queen Creek student named 2023 Presidential Scholar at University at Buffalo

Emma Kessler of Queen Creek has been named a 2023 Presidential Scholar at the University at Buffalo.

Presidential Scholars are first-year students “who are among the most academically accomplished students in the nation,” according to a release.

Honors College Academic Director Patrick McDevitt said students chosen have gone through “a rigorous application and interview process.

"Winning scholars have demonstrated not just academic excellence, but intellectual ambition and a commitment to engaging the world beyond the classroom."

Thirty students were named to the 2023 Presidential Scholar class, the release stated
