Queen Creek rejects repealing STR license ordinance

An amendment to the current law would remove license fees

An effort to repeal an ordinance requiring short-term rental homes to be licensed was narrowly rejected by the Queen Creek Town Council at its Wednesday meeting.

The move to repeal licensing short-term rentals was placed on the agenda by council members Travis Padilla and Bryan McClure. They were joined by Council Member Leah Martineau in voting in favor of repealing the ordinance. Mayor Julia Wheatley, Vice Mayor Jeff Brown and councilors Robin Benning and Dawn Oliphant voted against the repeal.
