Since going online in January, the Queen Creek Police Department says it has issued more than 2,000 speeding tickets.
Of those 2,000, more than 40 of the citations were for criminal speeding – and a third of those criminal speeding citations were issued within the last three months, according to a posting on the QCPD's Facebook page.
A criminal citation may be issued when a driver is going 20 miles above the posted speed limit or more than 45-miles-per-hour in a business or residential district if there is no posted speed limit.
