Queen Creek eliminates library impact fee

Queen Creek has eliminated its library impact fee effective this week.

In May 2022, the Queen Creek Town Council approved eliminating the library impact fee when enough funds were collected to pay off the debt associated with the fee.

Impact fees are one-time fees assessed to new development to pay for the new growth’s proportionate share of necessary public services.

Historically, Queen Creek assessed six impact fees and two capacity fees. Effective Monday, July 10, the town will now assess four impact fees and two capacity fees. The town facility development impact fee was eliminated in May 2022.

In 2019, the town updated the impact and capacity fee rates based on 10-year growth projections. Since that time, due to growth, the fees generated revenue faster than projected, which allowed Queen Creek to eliminate the town facility and library impact fees.

The remaining development impact and capacity fees are transportation, police, fire, parks, water and wastewater.

The updated fee schedule is available on the town's website.
