Queen Creek council considers tentative budget for 2022-23
Queen Creek’s proposed budget for fiscal year 2022-2023 is available for review on the Town’s website.
According to a press release, the budget will be considered by the town council at the Wednesday May 4 meeting for tentative approval, with the final approval scheduled for the Wednesday, May 18 council meeting. The budget is developed through incorporating both projected revenues and expenses.
Arizona law requires that all municipalities adopt an annual, balanced budget. The fiscal year 2022-23 budget totals $730.2 million. Nearly 75% of the budget is for capital infrastructure investments, with $180.6 million for transportation improvements and $172.1 million for parks and trails infrastructure.

The town council considers the town manager’s recommended budget and ultimately adopts a final budget for the fiscal year. The next steps for the town’s budget include:
May 4 - Town council considers and votes on the tentative budget (the expenditure ceiling).
May 18 - Town council votes on final budget (all programs and services) after public hearing. A public hearing will also be held on the property tax rate and levy.
June 1 - Town council adopts the property tax levy.
July 1 - The 2022/23 fiscal year begins, and the approved budget goes into effect.
