The Queen Creek Town Council has voted to recommend approval of a liquor license to the Arizona Department of Liquor Licenses and Control.
The approval was made at the council’s regular meeting on Wednesday, June 7. The motion was on the council’s public consent agenda.
An application for a Series 7 Beer and Wine Bar Liquor License was submitted by Kevin Nghia Le on behalf of Gallery Nails LLC located at 20008 S. Ellsworth Road. The bar is under construction and is set to open in September.
According to a staff report, a Series 7 liquor license is a "quota" license available only through the Liquor License Lottery or for purchase on the open market and once issued, “this license allows a beer and wine bar retailer to sell and serve beer and wine, primarily by individual portions, to be consumed on the premises and in the original container for consumption on or off the premises.”
Public notice for the license was posted for the required 20-day period from May 3-23 in accordance with the Arizona Department of Liquor License and Control posting requirement.
No comments or protests from the public were received. The Queen Creek Police Department was provided with a copy of the application for interview/investigation. There was no information that would prevent or disqualify Gallery Nails from approval to move forward with licensing.
Businesses that hold a state issued liquor license within Queen Creek’s town boundaries are required to obtain a supplemental liquor license from the town. The annual fee for a supplemental liquor license is $200.
