The Queen Creek Town Council has approved an agreement that sets in motion a $27 million transaction to acquire Colorado River surface water for the town.
As part of its ongoing effort to secure water for the town’s future, the council approved an agreement with the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation establishing a subcontract for the delivery of Colorado River water to Queen Creek.
Council, as part of the resolution, also approved an agreement regarding the partial assignment of Colorado River Water under contract with GSC Farm LLC to Queen Creek and an agreement regarding system use between the Bureau of Reclamation and the town related to the transfer of water to Queen Creek.
