Queen Creek cancels Trunk or Treat due to weather

High winds, thunderstorms forecasted

The town of Queen Creek has been forced to cancel one of its largest annual community events due to forecasts of bad weather.

Trunk or Treat was scheduled to take place from 5-9 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 15 at the Queen Creek Town Center on Ellsworth Road between Ocotillo and Rittenhouse roads.

The town announced late Friday afternoon that it was canceling the event after the National Weather Service in Phoenix issued a flash-flood warning for the area, with high winds and thunderstorms.
