Q: When did you open Treasures Custom Jewelers?
We worked for other jewelers and decided to start Treasures in a 10x10 booth in an indoor flea market in 1991. Our first store was at 67th and Peoria avenues in 1992. We moved to our current location in 2001.
Q: Tell us about how your interest in rock collecting evolved into a custom jewelers business.
When I got my first job in a jewelry store, the childhood rock collector in me was reborn. The never-ending learning of gemstones quickly became a passion that I now teach to others.
Q: Hometown / How long have you called the Valley home:
Born in Aberdeen South Dakota, moved to Arizona in 1985
Q: What I like most about doing business here:
Being part of the community feels a little like “hometown” relationships
Q: My interests & hobbies:
Travel and sports. Luckily we get to travel around the world to buy gems.a

My favorite artist, Dick Termes. No one in the world has figured out how to copy him and he is a great person. He is in his 70s and still works daily on new ideas.

Assorted special needs organizations, because we have a special needs daughter.
