Q&A: Amaya's family salsa company sets itself apart with Sonoran Desert pepper

Los Amayas Salsa Co. was established in 2021 by Marcos Amaya III in Old Town Scottsdale Farmer's Market and Chandler.

The salsa company is distinguished by its use of the elusive chiltepin pepper through family recipes.

It has adapted and expanded to shelves at local Ace Hardware stores and now this month across 86 Fry's grocery stores. Recently, Los Amayas Salsa Co. also attended the West Coast Hot Sauce Expo in California, where its Tio Marcos Mango Salsa was "judged by celebrity and local chefs and hot sauce royalty" to win the Sparky award in the salsa category.
