PVSchools opens Chromebook protection plan enrollment for 2026-27 school year

Posted

With the new school year approaching, Paradise Valley Unified School District is reminding families of students in grades 7-12 to complete the required Chromebook agreement and consider enrolling in the district's optional Device Protection Plan.

PVSchools issues every student in grades 7-12 an individual Chromebook to support learning both in the classroom and at home. Students are expected to bring their devices to and from school each day throughout the school year.

"Sending technology home daily empowers students and strengthens the home-to-school connection," said Jorge Ontiveros, principal of North Canyon High School located at 1700 E Union Hills Dr, Phoenix, AZ 85024. "However, when devices travel daily, accidents are bound to happen. The Device Protection Plan keeps families from costly repair bills and ensures students stay connected without interruption."

Before students can receive a district-issued Chromebook or continue using their current device, families must complete the district's required 2026-27 Device User Agreement. Both a parent or guardian and the student must sign the agreement.

To help reduce out-of-pocket costs associated with accidental damage, theft or loss, the district is offering an optional Device Protection Plan for $30 per student for the school year. Families who choose not to enroll remain financially responsible for repair or replacement costs outlined in the user agreement.

Enrollment in the protection plan is open through Oct. 2. Returning families must complete a new agreement and protection plan form each year to maintain coverage.

District officials noted that selecting the protection plan on the agreement form alone does not activate coverage. Families must also submit payment through the district's online payment portal.

The required Device User Agreement is available in  English and Spanish and includes additional details about coverage, exclusions and potential repair or replacement costs. Families making payments before Aug. 4 should use their student's account when accessing the online payment system.

For more information, families should visit the PVSchools website or contact their student's school.
