Puzzled with what to do during the pandemic, Katie and Gregg Dufort have pieced together a winning business called Puzzle Rides in Scottsdale that fits experiences of an escape room with a scavenger hunt by way of golf carts.
The owners, who operated the golf cart taxis in Old Town Scottsdale and downtown Prescott for years before the pandemic, put their golf carts in reverse to come up with a new business plan after things slowed and shut down.
Originally from Michigan, Katie Dufort, 50, is a historian and puzzle-lover so she toyed with the idea of creating mobile escape room experiences with her Ohio native husband.
