Public measles exposure reported in Mesa

The Maricopa County Department of Public Health has been notified of a measles exposure at the Arizona Athletic Grounds, 6321 S. Ellsworth Road in Mesa.

People in the spectator areas — i.e., bleachers and viewing areas — around the baseball/softball fields 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Jan. 23 and 24, may have been exposed and should watch for symptoms through Feb. 14. The measles virus can survive in the air for up to two hours, and the exposure times listed include that extended period, it states in a release.
