Public art plans for Apache Junction off-leash dog park discussed

Art concepts for the city of Apache Junction’s first dog park include pet tags secured to fencing like Paris’ famous Love Locks Bridge or a memorial dog tag wind chime that could double as a way to raise funds.

The 2.6-acre off-leash dog park is planned at the Pinal County complex at 575 N. Idaho Road.

The project’s public art budget is 1% of the cost of the dog park, Development Services Director Larry Kirch said at the April 12 meeting of the Apache Junction Public Art Commission.
