Setting records for a softball program with four state titles and four runner-up finishes is not easy, especially when you’re not on one of those title contenders.

But Sunrise Mountain senior Kaylee Pruetz is leading the Mustangs back to prominence by stacking base hits and getting on base like no one that came before her.

Pruetz set school records for batting average (.608) and on base percentage (.622) as a junior in 2025, her first full high school season as a slapper.
