Animal organizations mobilizes as they see increased demand with souring economy

Surrenders at animal shelters are on the rise because of inflation, illness and access to veterinary care.

Depending on where pet owners live and homeowners expendable income, some do not have proper access to basic pet needs, which include microchipping, vaccines, basic and affordable pet health care, plus educational information.

According to the Arizona Animal Welfare League, there has been a spike in intake and pet surrenders because pet owners are struggling with housing and inflation.
