About 30 protesters calling for Scottsdale Unified School Board Member Carine Werner to step down at the board’s Oct. 7 meeting at Coronado High School were greeted by honks of support by drivers passing by.

Calls for Scottsdale Unified School District Governing Board Member Carine Werner to step down resurfaced during the board’s Oct. 7 meeting at Coronado High School .

A group of about 30 people picketed outside the meeting with signs saying things like “SUSD doesn’t need bullies” and “Ban bullies not books.”

A similar group of about 50 people picketed outside the board’s Sept. 9 meeting.
