Prostate cancer walk honors memory of Tempe police detective

The 14th Annual Walk for POP event will take place Saturday at Kiwanis Park in Tempe.

The walk celebrates prostate cancer survivors and honors the memory of those whose lives have been lost to the disease, according to a city release.

Walk for POP is dedicated to the memory of Tim Barber, a Tempe police detective who lost his battle with prostate cancer at 40.

The 14th Annual Walk for POP event will take place Saturday at Kiwanis Park in Tempe.

The walk celebrates prostate cancer survivors and honors the memory of those whose lives have been lost to the disease, according to a city release.

Walk for POP is dedicated to the memory of Tim Barber, a Tempe police detective who lost his battle with prostate cancer at 40.

The first 100 men who register will receive a prostate screening at the walk.

Registration begins at 8 a.m. Sept. 30 at the park, 6111 S. All-America Way.
