PROST Phoenix-Scottsdale returns with its annual volunteer event

Members eager to give back to the community again

Community-led volunteering has been an important staple for nonprofit organizations looking to help out their neighbors; but after a drop in participation due to the pandemic, those Valley volunteer groups are just getting back to their usual programming.

According to 2021 data collected by the Points of Light Foundation, an organization dedicated to solving social problems through volunteering, organized volunteering dropped 93% during the pandemic. However, the same data reported a 50% rebound in volunteering post-pandemic.

With the return of volunteers, volunteer groups have run into some issues with organizing such events within the past year as different places have their own rules for bringing volunteers back in person.
