How we got here: Proposed Peoria airpark

The city of Peoria, as directed by Mayor Jason Beck and city council, is looking to position itself as a future hub of advanced industries, a compenent being a proposed airpark in the northern part of the city.

To do this, the city wants to open up 8,300 acres of Arizona state land in that area.

To help facilitate this, Deputy City Manager Mike Faust said the city is planning to amend its General Plan to create a “more intentional, better suited land-use category for strategic state land.”
