Proposed FY 2024 budget brings questions, concerns in Peoria

Some long-term funding not allocated as in past budgets

Peoria’s fiscal year 2024 budget appears headed toward a 21% increase compared with last year’s budget.

It is a significant jump, but city officials say the increase was expected due to peak capital project expenditures planned, an investment in more police officers and economic factors, such as inflation.

However, some councilors have raised concerns about some fiscal choices for the budget.
