Proposed $80K health and human services funding discussed by council

How a city commission recommends divvying up $80,000 for five agencies that applied to receive health and human services funding was recently discussed by the Apache Junction City Council.

Funding is available to Apache Junction health and human service 501(c)(3) nonprofit agencies that serve city residents. The municipality’s Health and Human Services Commission voted unanimously April 26 to recommend the City Council provide the funds as follows:

  • Apache Junction Community Development Corp., $6,000;
  • Boys & Girls Club of the East Valley, $24,500;
  • Genesis Project, $11,300;
  • Salvation Army, $12,200;
  • Superstition Food Bank, $26,000.
