Prop. 207 concerns sprout again amid Old Town conversations

The whiff of Proposition 207 violations may be emanating from Scottsdale City Hall again, despite one effort to keep those concerns mum.

During a long Dec. 7 Scottsdale City Council discussion on Old Town Scottsdale Character Area Plan’s newly proposed policy changes that would reduce current height allowances using bonus development provisions, Scottsdale Mayor David Ortega attempted to stop Vice Mayor Tammy Caputi from voicing her opinion on the proposed height allowance decrease.

Caputi’s point was that the change will trigger lawsuits for violating Prop. 207, a state law that protects property land rights.
