All four of Surprise’s largest high schools are making final plans for proms in the next month, as signs of normalcy creep into social events for the first time in more of a year.
The four Dysart Unified School District high schools — including Shadow Ridge, Valley Vista and Willow Canyon — have decided to have on-campus proms.
The district has monitored the feasibility of its high schools having proms for much of the school year. As Willow Canyon High School principal Adam Schwartz said prom venues fill up quickly, in a typical year by mid-fall.
