Looking ahead in 2023, a big capital project is in view.
The shoreline repair on hole No. 14 at Grandview Golf Course, 14260 W. Meeker Blvd., is a big project ahead, according to Bill Schwind, Recreation Center of Sun City West general manager. Forty acres of turf are set to be removed from this golf course in an effort to meet the requirements of the Arizona Department of Water Resources.
Looking ahead, a couple storage improvements took place behind the R.H. Johnson Recreation Center, 19803 R.H. Johnson Blvd. Scwhind said the rec centers and Friends of the Library work together and each quarter the organization hosts a book sale, which benefits the library and the needs within. With the collection of several books for the sale, space was limited and Schwind said adding a shed to store the books and another for the maintenance yard equipment used around the facilities is in the works.
