Unsheltered individuals living on the streets in and around Avondale and those on the verge of homelessness will have access to services and resources during an upcoming event.
Project Connect assists those experiencing homelessness with resources to housing, shelter, benefits, identification and other basic needs from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 28 at Avondale Baptist Church, 1001 N. Central Ave.
Guests will be able to meet with professionals providing employment services, medical care, clothing, personal care items, spiritual support, family and legal services, behavioral health, substance abuse services, domestic violence resources, temporary shelter and veteran benefits.
Nonprofit agencies expected to participate are Human Services Campus, Agua Fria Food Bank, iHelp, Circle the City, St. Joseph the Worker, St. Vincent de Paul, Central Arizona Shelter Services, Community Bridges, Social Security, Catholic Charities MANA House, city of Avondale, Mercy Maricopa Integrated Care, Department of Economic Security, Arizona Motor Vehicle Division, Maggie’s Place, Basic Mission, Animal and Humans in Disaster, Phoenix Rescue Mission and Church of the Palms United Church.
