Proactive measures to ensure your care and safety

Posted

In these unsettling times of COVID-19, our advance preparation and putting what we learn into action have positioned us for success. At Banner Boswell and Banner Del E. Webb medical centers, we’ve observed and learned from our Banner Health partners outside Arizona so we can be proactive in the care and treatment we’re providing right here in the West Valley.

With this planning, we believe we’re best prepared to meet the health care needs and save the most lives. From early on, health care teams have taken and continue to take proactive measures implementing safeguards and providing the highest levels of care and treatment.

Prioritizing health and safety at every turn, teams at Banner Boswell and Del E. Webb are working diligently to continue educating the community and staff regarding processes such as limited access to testing, cohorts around infectious disease professionals, and the placement and deployment of special units.

Emergency Department flow and operations were split to isolate COVID-19 patients while continuing to care for all other emergency medical needs.

These proactive measures, along with community members’ continued diligence around social distancing, proper hand hygiene and wearing a mask in public, are helping to ensure that the COVID-19 curve is flattened, not spiked.

Building for your future

Health crises like the COVID-19 pandemic underscore why it’s critical to ensure our medical centers, particularly emergency departments as the point of entry, continue to be equipped to manage whatever comes through the door.

We’re pleased to announce that construction progress continues, without disruption, to transform Banner Boswell’s Emergency Department and build a six-story patient care tower. The project is actively underway while staying on time and on budget. This crisis has reaffirmed the critical need for this project now, more than ever. Completion is projected this fall, in time for the medical center’s 50th anniversary.

Construction teams and all vendors are screened for their wellness and risk for COVID-19. Progress continues daily, and health care teams are staying nimble to make adjustments while caring for patients.

Times like these underscore the critical need for partnerships, such as Sun Health Foundation’s philanthropic partnership with Banner Boswell and Banner Del E. Webb medical centers. As stories emerge of hospitals in other health care systems facing closure, we’re proud that the strength of this unique partnership ensures the future of superior health care and provides safeguards for those at risk in our community who are even better served as a result.
