OPINION — I think public money for education should go to public schools, not to private schools.
The money currently being spent, supposedly to help children attend private schools, could be used to provide support in public schools for all children in the form of free food at school and any books and supplies they need, as well as child care for working parents.
I think it is criminal to be gutting public schools to support private education that often doesn't follow the same guidelines for educational standards and still leaves many children without the support they need.
