Private access way should be approved, AJ planning commission decides

The City Council should allow a private access way on the Silver Drive alignment south of West Roundup Street between North Ironwood Drive and North Gold Drive, the Apache Junction Planning and Zoning Commission decided recently.

The commission voted unanimously Oct. 12 to recommend that the council approve the private access way to serve the existing and proposed properties for a future land-split case. The final decision will be made by the City Council at a future meeting.

“The grander purpose behind this is this action will guarantee these property owners access to their property,” Staff Planner Nicholas Leftwich said to the commission. “This is kind of an unusual project inasmuch we don’t often get private access way requests,” he said.
