Priorities emerge in Peoria’s transportation efforts

City aims for more funding from next regional sales tax proposal

A clearer picture has emerged of what the city of Peoria stands to gain from a possible extension of Proposition 400, a measure projected to bring about $15 billion in transportation funds to the region.

The Maricopa Association of Governments has released a planning report that includes draft scenarios for a wide-ranging swath of projects from freeways to arterial streets to public transit options.

But some city officials say there are more questions to be answered on this massive tax plan projected for the November 2022 ballot.
