Powerball grows to 3rd largest, $10K Mega Millions winner sold in Phoenix

The Powerball drawing Wednesday night could produce the third-largest winner in the game’s history and the seventh-largest U.S. lottery jackpot ever, officials said.

The big prize Oct. 4 is worth $1.2 billion or $551.7 million cash value, according to lottery officials.

If there is no winner, Saturday’s drawing will be for $1.4 billion.

The Powerball drawing Wednesday night could produce the third-largest winner in the game’s history and the seventh-largest U.S. lottery jackpot ever, officials said.

The big prize Oct. 4 is worth $1.2 billion or $551.7 million cash value, according to lottery officials.

If there is no winner, Saturday’s drawing will be for $1.4 billion.

There was one $10,000 Mega Millions winner on Oct. 3. The ticket was purchased at Bashas’ Food City, 3442 W. Van Buren St., Phoenix.
