Businesses in Surprise are gearing up for the legalization of recreational marijuana, but a couple of experts in business law don’t expect it to have much of an impact for employers.
“I don’t see it as a huge game-changer for businesses,” lawyer John J. Balitis told a Surprise Regional Chamber of Commerce audience during a Dec. 8 webinar titled “Marijuana in the Workplace.”
Mr. Balitis, with Jennings and Strouss, and Joshua Black, who operates his own firm, spoke out about the new law’s effect on local business during the nearly hour-long webinar.
