The Pinal County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a possible kidnapping and homicide in San Tan Valley after a jogger found the body of a woman.

The body was located in a farm field west of Gantzel Road and south of Skyline Drive shortly after 9 a.m. on Wednesday

The woman appears to be the victim of a homicide, stated Lauren Reimer, PCSO public information officer, in a press release.

After discovering the body, the jogger called 911 and less than 10 minutes after that call, a second 911 call came in regarding a kidnapping in the 700 Block of West Vineyard Plains Drive.

“Deputies were quickly able to confirm the deceased female was the alleged kidnapped person,” Reimer stated. “An 18-year-old male relative at the home has been identified as the suspect. He was suffering from self-inflicted wounds when deputies arrived and has been taken to the hospital. He will be booked upon his release.”

PCSO is actively investigating the case and will release more information as it becomes available.
