Valley philanthropist and real estate entrepreneur Michael A. Pollack is once again inviting the community to kick off the season in true cinematic fashion, with thousands of twinkling lights, the sound of carolers, and a night of free holiday movies at Pollack Tempe Cinemas.

At 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 13, the annual light-switching ceremony will bathe the theater in more than 500,000 lights, setting the stage for one of the Valley’s most joyfully nostalgic traditions. Families can settle in for the classics, hum along to the carols, and soak up that once-a-year sense of wonder that only comes when the lights go up and the holidays truly begin.

Pollack Tempe Cinemas will keep the nostalgia rolling with a lineup of holiday classics shown free of charge on Nov. 13, including favorites like Elf, The Polar Express, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, and National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation. The movies begin at 6:30 p.m., with seating available on a first-come, first-served basis. Guests are encouraged to arrive early and settle in for an evening that feels like a holiday tradition in itself.

“This really is my favorite time of year,” said Pollack. “We love seeing families come out to enjoy the lights, the movies, and all the holiday spirit that fills the air. It’s just a fun, festive night that brings people together and reminds us what this season is all about.”

Adding to the charm, carolers will greet guests with classic holiday songs that set the tone for the day ahead. From the first carol to the final credits, it’s a full night of cheer the entire community can share.
