Phoenix police upgrade death investigation to murder case

Posted

The death of a 21-year-old woman whose body was found at the baseball fields near 40th Street and Ray Road has been ruled a homicide, Phoenix police said.

Homicide detectives have taken over the case after it was confirmed by the Medical Examiner’s Office that Margaret Williams' December death was a homicide.

On Dec. 7, officers responded after Williams' body was found.

Detectives completed a death investigation after no obvious signs of trauma were noticed. The Medical Examiner’s Office responded, took over custody of the woman's body and later ruled the death a homicide.

Detectives encouraged anyone with information to reach out to Silent Witness 480-WITNESS where all tips will remain anonymous.
