Police: suspect was drag racing before fatal crash

Fountain Hills man charged with two counts of manslaughter

Excessive speed during a drag race on North Scottsdale Road near East Gold Dust Avenue was a factor in the deaths of a Scottsdale mother and her daughter during a fatal accident April 7, According to Scottsdale Police reports

Anthony Nathaniel King Jr. was traveling between 85 mph and 109 mph at the time of the accident, reports said. The speed limit on that section of road is 45 mph.

King, a Fountain Hills resident, has been charged with two counts of manslaughter in the case.
