Police shoot, kill armed man on Phoenix street

A man was shot and killed Thursday morning after police said he approached them armed with a gun and refused to drop the weapon.

Officers were responding to reports of a shooting about 2:10 a.m. March 12 near 32nd Street and Paradise Lane where they saw a man walking along the road who matched the description of one of those allegedly involved.   

Officers got out of their patrol vehicles and saw the man had a handgun, according to a Phoenix Police Department release.
