A 19-year-old woman has been arrested and charged with one count of leaving the scene of accident resulting in a death in connection with a Feb. 27 collision on a Phoenix street.
An investigation following the crash led to Deena Kneece as a possible suspect, according to a release from the Phoenix Police Department.
"Kneece was contacted and interviewed regarding this incident. She admitted to being in the area and being involved in a collision," the release stated.

Woman arrested in fatal Peoria Avenue hit-and-run

A 19-year-old woman has been arrested and charged with one count of leaving the scene of accident resulting in a death in connection with a Feb. 27 collision on a Phoenix street.
An investigation following the crash led to Deena Kneece as a possible suspect, according to a release from the Phoenix Police Department.
"Kneece was contacted and interviewed regarding this incident. She admitted to being in the area and being involved in a collision," the release stated.
Aaron Hornedo, 36, died at a hospital following the crash that occurred just before 6:10 a.m. Feb. 27. The collision took place at 35th and Peoria avenues, police said.
Detectives learned that Hornedo was attempting to walk across the marked crosswalk at the intersection when he was hit by two vehicles.
An accident reconstruction process is continuing, police said.
