Glendale police found two people dead Saturday during a search warrant attempt at a home, according to a spokesperson.
The incident occurred at about 7:20 p.m. April 8 in the 5600 block of W. Mescal Street, near 59th and Peoria avenues.
According to Officer Tiffany Smith, Phoenix Police Department SIU was attempting to serve a search warrant in reference to child pornography. As Phoenix police were entering the home, they reported hearing a single gunshot. Upon completing the search warrant Phoenix Police located two dead adults, a male and a female.
Police did not locate anyone else inside the home.
The Glendale Police Department responded to the scene to assume the investigation.
“The identification of the two individuals inside will not be made until later this week (late Wednesday or Thursday) depending on the investigation and medical examiners report,” Sgt. Scott Waite stated in an email. “At this time we do not believe there is anyone outstanding in the incident. We are also not aware of anyone else who currently lived in the residence.”
