Police are investigating a shooting in Peoria after a man pulled a gun on officers, resulting in a standoff that lasted several hours.

Peoria police officers were involved in the shooting after responding to a mental health call for service near 73rd and Eugie avenues, at about 9 a.m., Jan. 12.

Upon arrival, officers called the male by cell phone inside the residence and asked him to step out of the home. The male exited the residence carrying a long gun and pointed it toward the officers, police said.
