Police investigate homicide in South Phoenix

Phoenix police are  investigating a homicide this morning at Montezuma Street and Roeser Road.

Officers arrived in the area at about 5 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 31,  in response to a  call for a welfare check, a spokesman said.

They found a woman who was the victim of a homicide, the spokesman said.

No further details were released as additional units were brought in to conduct the investigation.
