Two Surprise women died Saturday in a collision on Deer Valley Road near Williams Road.

Sisters Althea Cueto, 20, and Bea Cueto, 19, died at the scene after their Honda Civic collided with a Dodge Ram about 2 a.m. Oct. 14, police said.

The driver of the Dodge Ram was identified as Shawn Bundy, according to police.

“Based upon observations at the scene, Bundy was transported to the Surprise Police Department where field sobriety tests were completed and a blood sample obtained,” a release stated.

The Surprise Police Department continues its investigation and is waiting for lab results, authorities said.

“At this time, speed and impairment are considered contributing factors,” the release stated.
