Peoria Police Department returns to fully staffed roster

Officials streamline hiring process

When Peoria Police Chief Art Miller came to the city in September 2018 to lead the department, he inherited a sworn officer roster down nearly 20% and a dispatch team down about 30%.

At a recent council meeting Chief Miller said the department is now fully staffed.

He said he feels comfortable with the level of public safety the department is providing to the city.
